Biotaris is a Dutch company and one of the leading European exporters of dairy products. We have been exporting our products successfully for more than 15 years and are present in many countries.

Who are we?

The Netherlands is well known as a dairy country, and there is a great deal of confidence in Dutch dairy products – with good reason. The soil and climate conditions in our country are ideal for dairy farming.

Care for the animals, from day one

Our farmers combine traditional care and dedication to their animals with the most advanced farm management processes in the world. They monitor the entire process through a certified quality management system, to guarantee healthy and satisfied animals and high-quality dairy products.

The use of hormones and antibiotics is strictly regulated and controlled through a quality system supervised by the government. Hormones may only be used when a medical condition requires it or the breeding schedule of the goats and cows makes it desirable. Only the veterinary practice linked to the farm can supply medicines.

No antibiotic residues

Antibiotics may only be used curatively, never preventively. Each farm has its own treatment protocol in which first-choice antibiotics are used where possible, and only the veterinarian may treat the animals with specific medicines.

The milk of a cow or goat is not used during treatment with antibiotics, and not for a couple of days after the treatment period either. This ensures that no antibiotic residues end up in the milk or colostrum delivered to the processor. Farmers have every reason to be careful: if antibiotics are found, they are not paid for the delivery.
